    I don't have a 41 Mag, but do have a 5 1/2" .357 and a 5 1/2" .44 Special. I've run 265s at 1,200 fps and 325gr WLNGCs at 1,100 fps in the .44 Special and neither are "overpowering" in the M97 -- so I would suspect the .41 Mag would be just fine.
